Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to improve the satisfaction of the user who uses the information system. We assume that it is effective to present information in a manner that makes user feel comfortable. Therefore, we attempt to apply to the interface design findings of visual cognitive psychology. In particular, we consider the design elements by focusing on subjective speed by reproducing experimentally visual cognitive effects. In this paper, we focus on fundamental visual cognitive psychological effect to apply to application interface design. The purposes of the experiments are (i) to find people notice a small change on images, and (ii) to test the images can make people feel shorter subjectively. We performed the subjective time evaluation experiment by using striped images with various resolution/direction/width/colour combinations.
