Abstract

This paper introduces the Eli-Taso system, an interactive agent that dialogically conveys news and topics corresponding to the user\´s reactions. News and BBS contents have hierarchical data structures by categories. In order to support Web browsing without wandering among extensive information, the agent provides simple dialogs with some content to the user. The dialog-based system is expected to enable a natural conversation without consciousness of a wide array of topics. From the experiment, conversational interaction was generated by the selection of the simple reply, either "yes" or "no," while the smoothed browsing was sacrificed.
