Abstract :
This paper presents the characterization of a continuously varying microstrip line, CVML, using the step segmentation technique, SST, with the equivalent waveguide model, the conservation of complex power technique, CCPT, and the generalized scattering matrix technique. As all the techniques used in this work are theoretically well established, the described procedure is suitable for computer aided design, CAD, implementation. In order to validate the outlined technique, three different CVMLs are analyzed. The obtained results are compared with those presented by other authors, giving a good agreement.
