Abstract :
In Ad Hoc networks with the hierarchical architecture, the triangle loop routing mode with serious network overhead is usually employed to process the communication for the nodes belonging to different Clusters, while the direct routing mode is not always the optimal one as well. By introducing the session arrival rate, the mobility and the position relationship of the communicating nodes, the analysis models of the network overheads caused by the triangle loop routing mode and the direct routing mode are deduced, and the numerical results of the network overheads with respect to the related parameters are analyzed as well. On this basis, a geographic information assisted routing flexibility control strategy (GI-RFC) is proposed, and the routing mode will be dynamically determined in terms of the positions of the communicating nodes to reduce the overall network overhead. The analysis results show that GI-RFC outperforms solely using the triangle loop routing mode or the direct routing mode in different network conditions.
