Abstract
The effect of fast multipath fading on power control is analysed for a mobile telephone system. A new statistical model for the single path, Rayleigh faded channel is presented. From this model the probability for the relative change in signal amplitude at different time delays and mobile speeds is determined. The maximum time delay allowed for a desired accuracy in the loop may then be found
