  • Abstract
Energy is fundamental for the growth of a nation with its effects on all the aspects of development in social, economical and environmental criteria. Access to energy in an Indian setting is very complex due to its geographical vastness. Here, we propose providing access to energy through Renewable Energy Kiosks (REK). The design philosophy is to economically distribute energy with generation from hybrid sources. The tactical advantage of such a system is that it can be deployed at any remote location having the ability to standalone. This standalone hybrid generation system can also be grid-connected. The proposed system can relieve the energy crisis at locations where the grid cannot be extended.
