Abstract :
The government of Egypt has adopted a strategy to accelerate the pace of socioeconomic reform by developing an information infrastructure and decision support systems. Information and decision support centers (IDSCs) have been established and are being extended to executive information system (EIS) support for Egypt´s 26 governors. The governors are especially concerned with strategic decision making. The concept of EIS as applied to the governorates is explored to illustrate how Egypt is moving toward a governmental EIS based on IDSCs
