Abstract
This paper presents a new portable spinning machine based on the principle of liquid on a rotating CD for the microfluidics and nanofluidics application. The new portable system is suitable for the microfluidic and nanofluidic platform particularly in the area lacking of laboratory facilities and skilled personnel. A fully integrated, inexpensive, easy to operate, and accurate microfluidic and nanofluidic portable spinner hand-held machine in the area of biomedical diagnostics is presented. In this paper, the centrifugal force theory was studied and the portable spinning machine were experimented. The experimental work incorporates a speed motor controller rpm counter and a laser RPM counter. The current flow across in between the IRFZ44N power MOSFET drain and source terminals of the motor would be the voltage feedback to provide real time intercommunication of the system to calculate and estimate the speed of the motor. The IRFZ44N switching transistor driven at 8KHz PWM frequency to generate centrifugal force. The experimental result shows that the new portable spinning machine is highly reliable with the proposed motor controller system yet affordable using the Atmega48 microcontroller and individually programmed to use the 10bit ADC conversion.
