Abstract
A varactor-tuned oscillator (VTO) which has good tuning linearity performance, a broader tuning frequency range and low phase noise is proposed in this paper. It exhibits easy modeling, design simplicity and may be widely used in mobile radio communication systems. The linearity of the design is about 33 MHz/V and a frequency tuning range from 670 MHz to 1.2 GHz is reachable. At about the 900 MHz mobile radio frequency, more than 7 dBm available output power and less than -117 dBc/Hz phase noise at 1 MHz off carrier frequency are attained
