  • Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of stator and rotor resistance variation due to prolonged operation in vector controlled induction motor drives. An online adaptation method is developed using Higher Order Sliding mode control principles and Lyapunov Stability theory to simultaneously estimate the stator and rotor resistances online and compensate them in order to achieve the flux orientation and hence the decoupled control of the machine. Matlab/Simulink based simulation results are presented to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
