Abstract :
In this work we present the physical modeling, simulation and experimental measurement of the optical output power for a broadband infrared lamp majorly used as the heating element of infrared light SMT (Surface Mount Technology) electronic components´ soldering systems. The optical output power was simulated by means of using the physical and spectral parameters of the lamp. The simulation results were verified by direct measurement of the optical output power of the lamp at the focal distance for maximum light concentration, by means of using a high power laser output measurement instrument that operates under the principle of blackbody radiation absorption. We found a strong agreement between simulation and experimental measurement, which can be used in the development of new highly efficient infrared light SMT electronic components´ soldering systems.
