Abstract :
Performance of cooperative diversity with selection combining is derived and compared two kinds of combining diversities in Rayleigh fading. Also the optimum power control range of a relay node is discussed to prolong the network lifetime. If the average signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of each branch is equal, the single relay cooperative diversity is obtained 13.5 dB gain at the outage probability of 1times10-3 in Rayleigh fading. Also we noticed that if a switching threshold equals the outage threshold, the performance of the threshold selection combining is identical to that of the pure selection combining
