Abstract
When MPEG coded video is transported over wireless ATM, even occasional losses of cells can seriously affect much larger higher-layer video segments. We investigate a simple yet powerful forward error control scheme which minimizes cell losses. Approximate models are presented for analyzing the impact of the coding scheme on the integrity of delivered MPEG data units such as groups of pictures, frames and slices
