Abstract :
This paper presents theoretical background and experimental results obtained during development of a car compressor driven by a turbine and a high speed permanent magnet motor. Alternatively, the turbocharger used in combination with an auxiliary boost motor can be used not only in the car, but with some modifications as CHP unit (Combined Heat and Power). The control algorithms for work in infinite grid and off-grid systems and appropriate modification of Permanent Magnet High Speed Generator (PMHSG) controller are discussed. The experimental results and findings are presented.
