Abstract :
We consider the design of transmit diversity techniques that do not require channel estimates at the transmitter or receiver. We propose a general approach to differential modulation for multiple transmit antennas based on groups of unitary matrices. This approach can be applied to any number of transit antennas and any signal constellation. We further design optimal differential transmit diversity schemes for the particular case of two transmit antennas.
