Abstract :
The C/KC-135 aircraft has formed the heart of the USAF strategic tanker fleet for over 40 years. Modifications to airframe and engines have enhanced the life of the basic platform for another 40 years of service. The Flight2 avionics architecture employed for GATM (global air traffic management) on the C/KC-135 is a robust, flexible and cost effective avionics architecture that will support current and future operational requirements. With GATM implementation, the C/KC-135 will be ready to accommodate the avionics evolution that will inevitably occur over the aircraft´s next 40 years of service
