Abstract
This paper discusses the visual perception of a partner robot. The partner robot should classify not only a facing human, but also the expression of the human. Therefore, various features should be extracted from the image of the human. In this paper, we apply a cellular neural network to extract various features from the sequential images. Experimental results will show that proposed method can extract effective features to classify the expression of human face from the original image.
