Abstract
This paper analyzes the power consumption behavior of a fully reconfigurable LNA (G, NF and IIP3) in an RF receiver. The proposed behavioral modeling alters LNA parameters in response to input signal power, while the power consumption of this building block is estimated. The results show that applying this method on the Bluetooth LE and IEEE802.15.4 standards led to 2.5 times less LNA power consumption while decreasing faster than the input signal power increase.
