Abstract :
The paper presents the symbolic to digital nucleotide conversion used to express genomic information as genomic signals. Nucleotide sequences, up to whole chromosomes or whole genomes, are converted into complex genomic signals and phase or sequence path analysis is performed. Signal processing is used for handling and analysis of the genomic signals. The large scale properties of these signals are linked to the statistical properties of the DNA strands. The paper presents for the first time the mitochondrial genomic signals for homo sapiens and of several other hominidae.
