Abstract

We describe the prototype developed at INESC to process, receive and transmit data using the DECT (Digital European Cordless Telecommunications) standard. Hardware is based on a commercial chipset and currently allows the connection of two PSTN (pubic switched telephone network) lines. ISDN (integrated services digital network) and Ethernet (IEEE 802) interfaces are also under development. The DECT protocol layers are implemented by software
