Abstract :
In this paper it is presented a design technique of a linear power supply destined to be used in applications where a low electromagnetic interference (EMI) is requested. The output voltage on the load can be modified by an external control analog signal. The main element of this power supply is a multi-tap transformer which outputs a switching voltage in steps to a linear regulator. A low voltage dropout on the linear regulator is considered to maintain both a low power dissipation and a high efficiency.
