Abstract :
This paper describes the design of circuitry which can be mounted directly on the electrodes in an electrical capacitance tomography system such that the effects of stray capacitance are reduced. This allows increased operating frequencies to be employed which leads to improvements in sensitivity. These, so called, integrated electrodes are based on custom CMOS capacitance transducers which utilise the charge discharge circuit. Digital, bit-serial, communications allow fast, reliable and efficient transfer of data
