  • Abstract
    In this paper we propose a new receiver architecture for multi-layered space-time block codes based on the QR decomposition and compare its performance to an alternative solution proposed by the authors based on MMSE. Both these algorithms use an iterative method based on soft decision statistics to cancel out interference from subsequent decoded layers and reduce the effect of error propagation (EP). We also compare the performance results with a sorted QR- method and discuss the complexity, rate and diversity tradeoffs.
