Abstract :
This paper presents a heterogeneous FC-AE-1553 network with an exchange type and a bus type, which can provide a highly reliable, low latency, high bandwidth and flexible solutions. By compare the advantage and disadvantage between FC-AE-1553 exchange type and passive optical network (PON) type, we design a heterogeneous network both use the PON technology and standard FC-AE-1553 protocol technology. By analyzing the Fiber Channel (FC) network layer model, we design a new topology of this heterogeneous network. We show the design of physical layer, MAC layer and FC-4 layer protocol. Futher more, we design the message format and mode command of the protocol, develop a protocol HBA card, and build a ground demonstration system with a high reliability redundancy topology. Experiments show that the heterogeneous FC-AE-1553 network can reach a high communication speed which is 4Gbps. The heterogeneous network with high reliability has a strong practical value which can meet the application requirements of aerospace engineering.
