  • Abstract
    Static var compensators installed in the electric power supply systems of electric arc furnaces of metallurgical enterprises are described. The SVC 330 Mvar for the EAF-250 of the metallurgical plant CJSC "MMK Metalurji" in Iskenderun, Turkey, was taken as an example to show the feasibility of the compensator application to reduce voltage drops in the 34.5 kV network.
