Abstract :
This paper describes Pocket Pavilion, a Web-based application that extends collaborative browsing to wireless handheld computing platforms running Windows CE. Pocket Pavilion is built atop Pavilion, an object-oriented middleware framework for synchronous Web-based applications. In order to accommodate several limitations of the Windows CE environment, Pocket Pavilion combines a small number of new software components with existing Pavilion components. The architecture and operation of Pocket Pavilion are described, followed by results of experiments conducted on a mobile computing testbed
