Abstract
The need to evaluate whether the presently recommended formulae and worst-month modelling is still valid for yearly outage probabilities higher than 1%. Also from the nature of the phenomena that are dominant in this probability range, radiometers are the best instruments to use since they measure total attenuation and not excess attenuation as in beacon experiments. The data used in this study were collected with five radiometers in three different sites in the area of Graz (Austria), i.e. Michelbachberg (MBB), Rossegg (ROS) and Graz (INW). The maximum and minimum distance between these sites is 24.6 and 10.9 km respectively. The radiometers operated at three different frequencies: three radiometers at 19.92 GHz (MBB, ROS, INW), one at 29.92 GHz (INW) and one at 11.4 GHz (INW) GHz
