Abstract
It is critical to deploy human resources at the right time in software maintenance projects to deliver varying workloads under the committed Service Level Agreements (SLA). This is quite challenging considering the fact that human resources come with different skill-set, learning curve and productivity. Again, keeping resources longer than necessary makes the project expensive and uncompetitive. We have recently developed a theoretical framework based on cybernetic principles that recommends ramp-up/ramp-down of resources, considering the practical constraints, ensuring the fulfillment of the SLA with the customer with minimal resource cost. In the current paper, we would like to present the software that we have developed based on the framework. It will aid project managers responsible for software maintenance projects in taking decisions regarding allocating/de-allocating resources to the project and minimizing resource cost while complying with the SLA.
