Abstract :
Data Acquisition System (DAS) involves measurement of different types of signals whose level will vary from sensitive low voltage to dangerous high voltage sharing common ground. Poor grounding and isolation between channels, between channel to earth results in false and inaccurate representation of acquired signals. Proper use and implementation of signal conditioning methods helped in eliminating problems related to ground loop and common mode voltages. The Electromagnetic interference (EMI) problems encountered in the development of Data acquisition systems and the techniques followed to control the noise will be discussed.
