Abstract
The principle philosophy for the authors´ work is the representation of some aspects of cellular metabolism as the computation of suitably defined data. The main benefit is the opportunity to make use of some of the theoretical models of general, concurrent computing systems in the hope that the computational models may enlighten the biochemical theory; and the analysis of successful parallel biochemical systems may enlighten the theory of parallel computing
