Abstract :
A method is proposed to analyse a coaxial-line driven rotationally symmetric antenna where the outer conductor of the coaxial-line is terminated by a rotationally symmetric surface. By using this method, the author found tapered transmission line feed configuration is a good and hopeful way to providing broad characteristics. From the comparison of experiment and theory, the validity of the analysis is clearly seen. Moreover it should be noticed that the method devised can be used to solve other problems, such as optimisation of tapered transmission line feed configuration
