Abstract :
The authors describe the problems derived from coherence between the impinging signals in adaptive arrays and single of arrival estimators. They present the spatial transforms university method, and an adaptive control of the preprocessing matrices is proposed for achieving a full decorrelation between the received signals. This algorithm only requires the use of 2J sensors to decorrelate a group of J coherent signals. The control of the preprocessing matrices is implemented using a random search algorithm. The authors are working to obtain a gradient-based algorithm for controlling the preprocessing matrices
