Abstract :
With the interconnection of power system, the nonlinearity of power system is becoming more and more prominent, and the difficulty of system modeling is increasing. As there is usually deviation between the on-line identified model and the real system, the performance of wide area damping controller which is designed based on the on-line identified model cannot be guaranteed. In this paper, according to the characteristics of power system, model free adaptive control algorithm is improved to adapt to wide area damping control. The performance of MFAC-WADC is tested in a 3 area 36 node system, simulation results show that MFAC-WADC can adjust adaptively to the system change, and damp the wide area low frequency oscillation effectively.
