Abstract :
This paper proposes a nested frequency diverse array (FDA) radar by systematically nesting multiple uniform linear FDAs. Using second-order statistics of the received data, it is capable of providing a dramatic increased in degrees-of-freedom (DOFs). The detection performance of the designed nested FDA radar is evaluated by examining the probability of detection. The performance improvements offered by the proposed method, as compared to basic FDA radar, are demonstrated by simulation results.
