  • Abstract
Electromagnetic relay is the indispensable electromechanical component in a ship. Ship always works in the mechanical environments like inclination, rocking, vibration and so on. Electromagnetic relay contains several movable components, so its performance is affected by these mechanical environments. In this paper, the model of electromagnetic relay was established by the finite element method which adopting multi-body dynamics methods, considering ship mechanical environments and coupling electrical circuit with electromagnetic fields. Through the simulation that considering mechanical environments, it was found that z direction was the sensitive direction of relay inclination. Vibration had a strong influence on relay´s performance and the resonance frequency of the simulated relay was about 200 Hz.
