Abstract :
Forecasting of electricity demand is an important task for the planning and operation of power systems. The objective of this study is, to predict the electricity demand for India using Fuzzy Logic (FL). A set of 64 `if-then´ rules are used in accordance with FL method to develop an intelligent predicting model. Per capita GDP, population, import and export are taken as input variables and electricity demand is the predicted output. The output values are much closer to the actual values with minimum error. The results are validated using 18th power survey report.
