Abstract
Reactive power is the key controller in voltage regulation system. Distributed Energy Resources (DER) can be the solution to mitigate the voltage regulation problem with right control technique. DER can generate or consume reactive power with proper power electronics interface. It has also capacity to provide ancillary services. The new decentralize Adaptive technique has been implemented in this paper. Simulation results of adaptive method for different load condition satisfies the fast dynamic speed requirement without any oscillation and overshoot. In this paper the new methods for voltage regulation has been discussed which are Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS), Direct and Indirect Self Tuning Regulator. These methods can solve the complex issue of voltage regulation in power system.
