Abstract :
The Electrical Grid Monitoring System deals with a number of complex variables and vague data. As a part of the grid monitoring system, various Energy Management Techniques (EMT) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems play an important role in improvising the sustainability, reliability and safety of the smart grid system. In this paper, we have presented a novice technique for system analysis using the status of various protecting devices (circuit breaker and relays) to safeguard the system. Rough set proposed by Z. Pawlak is being used for the investigation of Smart Grid Monitoring System. The decision rules are generated in accordance to which a grid operator can take necessary steps. Simple k-fold cross validation (CV) is also used for analyzing the state of the system and accessing the reliability of the proposed method.
