Abstract :
In this paper, determination of electric field (E-field) distribution at each meter (1m, 2m...) above the ground level of the 220kV (Double circuit) and 500kV (single circuit) transmission lines with and without the usage of shield wires were analyzed. The charge simulation method is used for the calculation of the electric field (E-field) for the two transmission lines. To minimize the electric field effects of high voltage transmission line, the electric field reduction at the ground level is needed. The different shielding wires parameters effect on the ground level is studied by varying the shield wires spacing, the number of wires, their height above ground and the applied voltage to the shield wires.
