            Abstract :
A new modification to the widely used /spl lambda//2 dipole antenna is proposed by constructing a simple antenna system, which consists of a /spl lambda//2 dipole lying in a diagonal plane and parallel to one edge of a parallelepiped metallic reflector. This combination led to a drastic modification in the antenna radiation characteristics especially the horizontal plane gain. The method of moments is then used in the analysis via a computer-aided code. Both the electric and magnetic field integral equations [(EFIE), (MFIE)] are solved to analyze the wires and surfaces respectively.
