Abstract
We propose a compact sector antenna that adopts omni-directional characteristics by using a vertical dipole antenna with selectable parasitic elements without a ground plane. Additionally, we present an antenna that has both uni-directional and omni-directional antenna characteristics realized through simple switching of an additional element. This paper describes the constructed 5.0 GHz prototype antenna and presents experimental results.
