Abstract :
The proportional solenoid valve is an actuator for a proportional control valve used in automatic transmission pressure control devices. The proportional solenoid valve employing a proportional solenoid is capable of producing pressures and flow rates proportional to an exciting current. The proportional solenoid must have a constant thrust over a designated displacement range, and the thrust must also increase in proportion to the exciting current. This paper deals with the dynamic analysis of a proportional solenoid for automatic transmission applications, basing on the principle analysis of high-speed proportional solenoid. The response of winding current, inductance, flux linkage, mover displacement and velocity, and the electromagnetic force response are investigated by the DC and PWM controlling through theoretical modeling and simulation technique. The results show that the simulation results are verified with experimental results. The proportional solenoid valve performance achieves the prescribed requirement in automotive applications.
