Abstract
We present a study on the scattering characteristics of resonance-type periodic structures, taking into account the effects of structure dispersion and material loss. The phenomena of anomalous absorption are systematically investigated on the basis of the guiding characteristics of the structures. In particular, the effect of dispersion is carefully examined.
