Abstract
Technology developments have made it possible to discover and harvest oil from deepwater reserves, however, maintaining asset integrity of deepwater facilities is not without challenges. This is due to the unique site characteristics and uncertainties in predicting future performances. Based on a literature survey as well as interviews with industrial experts, this paper investigates challenges in the integrity management of deepwater petroleum production assets. A workflow is proposed as a guideline to establish an integrity management plan. In addition, an industrial service strategy will be discussed as an alternative solution to deepwater challenges.
