Abstract :
Strategic decision making in real time environment of air defence is a crucial activity. With threat evaluation and available resources, the problem concerns the assessment and management of optimal solution to achieve favorable results. Optimal use of resources is highly desirable. Based on the multi-attributes decision, threat perception, threat evaluation and availability of resources/weapons, the paper presents a decision support system that provides the optimal solution of problems. This paper identifies the core parameters that can affect the Decision Support System (DSS) and use mathematical notations to present DSS as time critical system rely on efficient scheduling of resources. This paper presents a comprehensive threat evaluation and weapon assignment model that includes all the core parameters that can affect the outcome of any assignment. Due to the significance of DSS, very limited literature is available. In this paper we treated optimum decision support system as real time scheduling with real constraints. Due to its complexity, we presented a mathematical model based on heuristic approach. The paper concludes that on basis of proposed DSS, optimal solution can be developed for effective emergency management in air defence and also lay down the basis for researchers to explore DSS.
