Abstract :
This paper presents a Fuzzy-Logic based fault classification technique. The technique was tested and validated in double-circuit transmission lines considering ten fault types simulated in Simulink SimPower Systems® package in MATLAB® software. Obtained results indicate that the proposed technique has a high accuracy rate in fault classification using only measures of three phase phasor currents at one terminal of the transmission line. The high accuracy rate was confirmed through exhaustive simulations considering several pre-fault operations conditions applied fault types.
