  • Abstract
The minimum content of a NAMAS calibration certificate is defined in NAMAS document M25 Certificates of Calibration, and all accredited laboratories are expected to comply with this. There does, however, remain the question of exactly what scope of calibration should be carried out. This is partly a matter for the contractual arrangements between the laboratory and the client. However many clients are not always aware of what their requirements are and therefore ask for a calibration to `manufacturer´s specification´, and rely on advice from the calibration laboratory. This can give rise to all sorts of problems. The author therefore explores these problems with a view to moving this issue further forward so that mutually acceptable solutions can be explored
