Abstract :
In this paper, we investigate the combination of active antenna and small cell for dynamic hotspot adaptation. The tidal effect of the user traffic is of our interest and we propose to use the advanced antenna technology for small cell coverage adaptation with a clever communication retain ability enhancement scheme. The proposed active user detection and handling scheme could greatly help the communication retain ability of the impacted small cell users and avoid the unexpected radio link failure which leads to poor user experience.
