  • Abstract
A Gradient Method coupled to Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) for grid connected PV inverter is presented in this paper. The main idea is to generate the reference current value produced by the PV inverter in order to extract the maximum power from PV array to restitute it to the electric grid with unity power factor. A new MPPT using gradient method gives an adaptive kind for the system performance, also provides a good performance and the ability to change the parameters instantaneously to improve control system. This strategy of control is robust and effective than reference signal generated by the conventional proportional-integral PI controller used in bibliography where its synthesis is based on well-known of automatic control methods. The control algorithm is simple and easy to implement in a DSP and his effectiveness has been verified by simulation in Matlab/Simulink.
