Abstract :
We consider source-excited electromagnetic fields in complex laminates, characterized by multi-scale heterogeneities. Our goal is to derive an effective formulation for the macro-scale field, which smoothes out the micro-scale heterogeneities while retaining their effect on the macro scale observables. The problem is addressed by utilizing multiresolution analysis (MRA) as a systematic homogenization procedure.
